recent Oxfam study found that since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the world’s richest 10 billionaires have seen a wealth
increase of half a trillion dollars – enough to pay for every person on the planet to get a vaccine.
In this UpFront special, Marc Lamont Hill discusses with economist and former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis what is driving the staggering wealth inequalities and how governments are offering socialism for the rich, and austerity for the rest.

ncreasing numbers of Jews have been leaving ultra-orthodox communities in recent years. Surprisingly, Germany has become a popular refuge for them. Rabbi Akiva Weingarten has been helping them.
More than 1.3 million Jews live in ultra-orthodox communities worldwide. It’s a kind of parallel universe — in which only God’s laws count. Every aspect of everyday life is clearly regulated: The women are responsible for the home and for looking after the children while the men devote their lives to religious study.
But some ten percent of ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel go on to quit their communities - and that figure is growing. The majority are young adults and, surprisingly, many come to Germany. Akiva Weingarten was one of them. He grew up in an ultra-orthodox Satmar community in New York State but made a radical break in 2014. He left his wife and children and started a new life in Berlin - without a credit card, a bank account or a job, or any relatives to fall back on.
He is now surrounded by a free community of former ultra-orthodox Jews - who turn to the rabbi for practical and religious advice. Moshe Barnett and David Lamberger have only been flat mates in Dresden for a few months now. They are not just seeking a new life, but a new relationship with God.

Kudos to Corey for having the courage to ask thorny questions in a land of conflict. I think too many people take it for granted, not contributing in any way but harshly criticizing his style. I find that attitude extremely shameless.

Even Israel's own Supreme Court (let alone the International community ) regards the occupation as illegal.
Labour member of parliament, Yossi Sarid, expressed concern: 'Resistance breeds repression, which strengthens resistance, thus unleashing more repression, and one day we Israelis will look at ourselves in the mirror and be unable to bear the cruel and repulsive image reflected in it. We want not only to liberate Palestinlians from military domination but also to liberate ourselves from its
effects."

Hi I really love all your videos and I have questions im really interested to hear the answers to I would really appreciate it if you would want to use them in your future projects!
Question to Palestinians: if you could go back in time to 1948 would you prefer to agree to Partition plan and Establish a country in the lands the UN gave you? Or would you still prefer to go to a war so all the land will be yours?
For the Arab Israelis who served/serving in the IDF: what your family and your friends think about you serving in the IDF? Are there was sometimes problems with it? Are you feel equally to the Jews who serving with you?

Back when I first started watching Corey's videos, they seemed more like a debate than an interview. I believe an interviewer should correct misinformation, but allow the person they are asking to share their opinions without turning it into a debate. I think it's good to have back and forth style videos, but sometimes I just want to simply hear what the opinion of interviewees. That being said, I still enjoy his videos and think that he does a great job.

So by the people's logic in this video, all mankind possess the right to claim a land in Africa because our ancestors once lived in
there then had migrated all over the world. Thus it is totally moral to kick a Kenyan farmer out of his land and settle down.

Gush Emunim, a grouping of
nationalist fanatics who place themselves above the law by evoking 'Biblical' autho-
rity. Their slogan is 'all of Israel for the people of Israel.' Their declaration to the Supreme Court on the affair of the Arab land confiscated to build the Elon Moreh
settlement was a
veritable profession of faith: 'We settled here because we were commanded to colonize the country God
gave to our ancestors. The settlement was not established for security reasons but in
answer to this calling". Tells you all you need to know. This is from a 1980 article in Journal of Palestine Studies about
fascism in Israel. I guess in 2021 nothing has really changed. :-)

Why do they believe "God gave the land ( of Palestine) to the Jewish people" and seek to deny the Palestinian claims but no other ethnic people in the world make similar claims. The pope doesn't say God
gave the Christians Rome, Vishna does not say "God gave India to the Indians" . The most they can say is historically as an ethnic group or civilisation that they had lived in this area for an extended duration and have an affiliation or identification with the region ,
just like the Italian people have a greater affiliation to Italy than the French. But to claim the land was given to them by God is a bit of an (unprovable) stretch.

Breaking the
Silence is an organization of veteran combatants who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the Second Intifada and have taken it upon themselves to expose the Israeli public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied
Territories. We endeavor to stimulate public debate about the price paid for a reality in which young soldiers face a civilian population on a daily basis, and are engaged in the control of that population's everyday life.
'This week' correspondent Llew Gardner speaks to Israeli military leader
and politician General Moshe Dayan at his home.
In this interview General Dayan speaks about the Arab Israeli Wars and
how any future wars, which some see as inevitable would not help towards
the safety and stability of the region in any way.

After Nathan Robinson wrote a lengthy critique of Glenn Greenwald accusing him of "serving the right" and "spouting dangerous conservative hyperbole against the left," Glenn had a few choice words for him on Twitter. Hating to see friends-of-the-pod fight, Briahna Joy Gray invited them both to a Bad Faith Pod Cancel
Court (TM) session, during which they could develop their arguments in full without character limits or character attacks. Topics include whether Glenn's appearances on conservative media implicitly validate right wing narratives about Democrats, how journalists should deal with facts that undermine their own
political agendas, Noam Chomsky's climate-based vote-blue-no-matter-whoism, how to and whether to cover detransitioning, accusations of racism against Lee Fang, Glenn's recent choice to publish an article making the case for a link between reformist prosecutors and rising crime rates, whether the Senate should be abolished (or preserved because it protects minority interests), whether cancel culture is real, whether corporate appropriation of BLM/Pride means the left has won the culture wars, and more. Why are folks debating whether Kamala is "Black" and is it relevant to her presidential prospects? How does one square the belief that White Americans are too racist to
vote for policies that benefit Blacks with a redistributive economic agenda -- much less Reparations? Briahna Joy Gray covers these questions with Assistant Professor of Africana Studies and Political Science at Carleton College, Dr.
Charisse Burden-Stelly (Dr. CBS) in this clip from this week's full premium episode.

Bre, around 9:30 you made the point about the empty rhetoric "believe black women" and tiny drops of deference from the D-party resulting with Harris as VP. Keep in mind -
prior to the horrific incident with G Floyd, the Party had its eye on Klobachar. Harris was a second/default choice. And I'm of little doubt the Party took a very deep sigh before announcing Harris. The actual carrot/crumb - indeed rhetoric, the Dems were offering was a black woman as supreme court justice, which may
or may not happen during this term. SMH

VICE embeds with the London branch of the Neturei Karta, a group of controversial Ultra Orthodox Jews who campaign against Zionism and for the immediate dismantling of the state of Israel.
Because of their unusual views, and support of people like ex-Iranian president Ahmadinejad and groups like the
Hungarian far right Jobbik party, other Jewish people often label them as extremists.
Reporter Milène Larsson goes behind the closed doors of this secretive community to understand why this Jewish
group's anti-Israel sentiment has led them to join Palestinians protesting Israeli occupation and burn Israeli flags.

In May 2021, missiles from Israeli jets struck and completely
demolished four towers in Gaza – that is a fact. What was not clear was the reason for the attacks. Why were these buildings selected for destruction?
Israel claimed the towers were used by Hamas, whose
military wing was launching rocket attacks on Israeli towns and cities at the time. Local Palestinians in
Gaza, as well as international media and political leaders, disputed this and maintained that the towers
housed only businesses, residential apartments and media organisations, including Al Jazeera Media
Network and American news agency The Associated Press.
This film charts the story of the attacks - from the 60-minute evacuation warning to the question of the cost of rebuilding - and seeks to establish
why these towers were singled out, bombed and destroyed.
PORT-AU-PRINCE,
HAITI—Defying protests calling for his removal, political experts
c
onfirmed Wednesday that Haiti
faced a constitutional crisis after
recently assassinated prime minister Jovenel Moïse refused to step down
from office. “It’s unclear how the nation will move on now that
Moïse is
clinging to power from the afterlife,” said political scientist Frances
Jean-Pierre, who lamented a possible violent uprising after the
deceased prime minister vowed to extend his five-year term to infinity.
“This power grab
creates a huge stumbling block to a free and democratic
Haiti. We haven’t seen anything like this since the U.S. military
backed a failed coup to install an undead regime.” At press time,
experts expressed dismay after Moïse added deceased dictator François
“Papa Doc” Duvalier to his cabinet.
