Protest leaders on Netanyahu's statement: Bizarre show by a dictator in the making, protest will intensify

The leaders of the protest against the judicial coup said in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement this evening that it was a "bizarre show by a dictator in the making," who instead of stopping the legislation is rushing to take over the Supreme Court.

They added that the protest will continue to intensify, and that "all calls for negotiations when the legislation continues are illegitimate."

United Torah Judaism faction say won't stand in way of Netanyahu doing 'what it takes' to reach broad consensus

Degel Hatorah, a non-Hasidic, Lithuanian faction within the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party said Thursday that it "won't stand in the way of the prime minister doing whatever it takes to reach broad consensus and understanding" in order to "prevent the further rift" within the country.

The faction has supported the judicial coup, saying it believes there is a "need to change the legal and constitutional situation" and that "legally, the High Court never granted relief to the ultra-Orthodox public nor protected the ultra-Orthodox minority and its ideology – on any issue."

Hundreds protest in Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Square in alternative to Bnei Brak protest

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered for a demonstration at Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv organized by the "Together" movement.

The movement sought to provide an alternative for those uninterested in joining the demonstration in the ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak Thursday night.

"Our struggle is against government policy, not against the public," the movement said. "A demonstration against the ultra-Orthodox residents of Bnei Brak is wrong, because it is pitting people against people instead of the people against the government.

"All of us – religious and secular, Jews and Arabs, residents of the center and of the periphery – have common interests, which this government is harming. This is all of our home."

Thousands of protesters enter ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak

The protesters who gathered at the Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan have entered the ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak to protest.

The organizers of the march said at the beginning that "Today, in an unprecedented event, the liberal camp is standing tall. Let's say loudly: No one will trample us again, no one will step on us again, no one ever."
